NU Merit List Preparation & Subject Distribution Procedure
A) Method and Distribution of Merit List: Applicants will be allocated subjects for the first-year undergraduate (honours) program in each college based on the GPA attained in their SSC and HSC exams.
B) Prioritization in Case of Equal Merit: In instances where multiple applicants from the same institution/college possess identical merits, priority will be granted to those who i) scored 40% and 60% of total marks from SSC and HSC exams respectively, including the 4th subject, ii) meet the same criteria but based on total marks, including the 4th subject, if necessary, iii) if still tied, preference will be given to the younger candidate.
C) Special Considerations for Quota Applicants: Children/grandchildren of freedom fighters, tribal candidates, individuals with special needs, or those in underprivileged quotas who secure a place in the 1st/2nd merit list will not be eligible for quota placement.
D) Sequence of Merit List Releases: The admission process will progress sequentially, commencing with the 1st merit list, followed by vacant seats, the special quota merit list, and culminating in the fulfillment through the 1st and 2nd release slips. It’s important to note that there will be no opportunity to apply through the 3rd release slip.

Honours Admission Result through SMS
Students can access the subject-based merit list using the college’s User ID, Password, and OTP. Furthermore, colleges will also provide access to the merit list.

NU Admission 1st Merit Result Online
- Visit app1.nu.edu.bd to access the National University Graduate Admission Results page.
- Select ‘Applicant Login’ from the top left corner.
- Choose ‘Honours Login’ from the dropdown menu.

Things to do if you get selected
Students who have been selected in the NU 1st merit list result are required to follow a few steps. Firstly, they need to log in to the Honours Login link available on the Applicant Login option of the National University Admission Website at www.nu.ac.bd/admissions. Once logged in, they should fill out the final admission form accurately using the correct roll number and PIN. Subsequently, it is necessary to print a copy of the completed form. Cancellation of Dual Admission
In the academic year 2023-2024, for admission to the first year honors class, if a student has secured a place in the merit list, and if they have been issued a registration card after admission to regular/private courses of honors/pass in the preceding academic year 2022-2023, then their admission to this academic program will be considered valid only if they cancel their admission from the previous academic year. Otherwise, dual admission will be considered invalid, leading to cancellation of both admission and registration.
Admission Reconsideration Policy
For the academic year 2020-2024, regarding undergraduate (honors) admission program, if a student withdraws their admission before the first release slip (up to the 1st merit list), there will be no opportunity for reapplication. However, if a student withdraws their admission after the second release slip, they can only reapply for admission in accordance with the procedures outlined for readmission.
Release Slip Application Form
Applicants who do not secure a place in the merit list, whether by withdrawing after obtaining a place in the merit list or by not being admitted despite securing a place, can apply separately for subject preferences in five colleges with vacant seats. To do so, they must submit an application for the release slip. If a college does not confirm the applicant’s primary application form online, the applicant will not be eligible to apply for the release slip in that particular college.
