• Science: Candidates can apply to get admit in science section at Holy cross college those who have achieved GPA 5.00 in SSC from Science section with both Biology and Higher Math subjects.

Historical Importance of Holy Cross College

On November 1, 1950, Holy Cross College began its journey with only five students. That was a few years ago. In 1947, the country was divided. East Pakistan and West Pakistan. At that time he was the Archbishop of Dhaka – Reverend Lawrence Grainer, CSC. The education of girls in East Pakistan, especially higher education, was an urgent matter for him. He therefore specially requested the Sisters of the Holy Cross Association (Holy Cross) to establish a college for girls in East Pakistan. This guru is entrusted to the most revered Sister Augustine Marie. He started his duties on November 1, 1950. Respected Sister Rose Bernard, CSC has assisted him in this work. Until 1966, he faithfully performed this duty. Sister Joseph Mary in 1967, He served as the second principal of CSC College. Mrs. Garty Abbas was principal from 1981 to 1982. Sister Marian Teresa served as principal for a long time from June 30, 1982-2010. Sister Joanne, CSC, Sister Rose Bernard, CSC, and Sister Joseph Mary, CSC, have served as acting principals at various times during this intervening period. Sister Shikha Gomez, CSC, has been the Principal since July 01, 2010.

The Holy Cross is established in its glory with a tradition of 70 years. The Silver Jubilee of the College was celebrated in 1985 and the Golden Jubilee of the College was celebrated in 2000 with great formality. The college is moving forward with the times. The range of small startups with only five students is now much wider. At present 45 skilled and experienced teachers are conducting education and other activities here. The number of students in class XI, XII and examination is about 2500.

The Alumnae Association was started in 1970. To this day it has played an effective role in the college.

Holy Cross Admission 2024-25

At the beginning of the college, there was only a humanities department. In 1982, with the approval of the Dhaka Board, the science department was opened here and in 2005, the business education department was opened in the college. In 1954, the college had BA class under Dhaka University. It was closed in 1980. Since 1952, there was a student hostel adjacent to the college. Until 1961, English was the medium of instruction in the college. From 1982, it was changed to Bengali as per the government directives and till now the educational activities are being done in Bengali. The newly constructed building of the college, Auditorium was inaugurated in 2006.

Since 2006, the second shift has been introduced in the college to meet the demand for quality education.
