Bangladesh Judicial Service – 14th BJS Circular 2021
The BJS Exam is held for the purpose of selecting suitable candidates through competitive exam for the post of Assistant Judge of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission (Abbreviated as BJSC). This selection process is done through 3 exams. The exams are preliminary exam, written exam and viva exam.

Eligibility to Participate in BJSC Exam
Below are some of the qualifications required to participate in the BJSC exam.
Age:According to Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission The age of the candidate cannot be more than 32 years. Age will be determined according to the original certificate of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent exam. Applications above the age of the candidate will not be accepted. Affidavit will not be accepted in case of age determination.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university for a period of 4 years, or Bachelor of Law, or hold a postgraduate degree in law from a recognized foreign university with a 3-year bachelor’s degree:
There are conditions, that person is a law graduate, or graduation (honors), or as the case, must have obtained second class or equivalent CGPA at postgraduate level in law.
Physical Qualification: The candidate must be physically fit to perform the duties of Assistant Judge. The candidate has to appear before the Medical Board constituted by the Department of Health or the nominated Medical Officer to verify and certify whether he is physically fit or not.
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of Bangladesh or a permanent resident of Bangladesh or domiciled in Bangladesh.
Type And Pass Number of BJS Exam
Candidate selection process is done through 3 exams. Brief description of 3 types of BJSC exam and pass number is written below.
Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam will be 100 marks. There are a total of 100 MCQs in that preliminary exam. The value of each MCQ was 1. However, 0.25 mark would be deducted for wrong answer of each MCQ. The minimum pass number for this test was 50.
Only those who pass this preliminary exam will be able to participate in the written exam. Detailed information about the exam will be published on the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission’s website www.bjsc.gov.bd.
Written Exam: The written exam will be 1000 marks. A candidate can pass the written exam if he gets 50% marks on average. However, if a candidate gets less than 30 marks in any subject, he will be considered as unsuccessful.
Only those who pass the written exam will be able to take the viva exam. Detailed information in this regard will given on the official website of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission. Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission official website is www.bjsc.gov.bd.
Viva Exam: The viva exam will be 100 marks. To pass this exam, the candidate has to get 50 marks.
