Military Institute of Science and Technology
Military Institute of Science and Technology, or MIST for short, is a reputed institute of engineering education in Bangladesh, located in Mirpur Cantonment. It was established in 1996 by the Government of Bangladesh to study B.Sc. Engineering for Bangladesh Army officers.
Initially educational activities were conducted from the departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, but later other new departments were opened.
It was merged with Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2006, before MIST was affiliated with Dhaka University. Previously, only military officers participated, but since 2002, civilian students have been able to study here by participating in admission tests.
